Legal Factions

Post by Malamando »

We should have more organized government factions to make the server feel more realistic and structured. Right now, things feel a bit random, and adding proper departments would improve roleplay and create more career paths for players. Instead of just law enforcement and emergency services, we could have key government agencies handling justice, public works, and transportation. This would make everything more connected and fun.

One of the most important additions would be the Blaine County Government. This faction would oversee public services, manage funding, and make sure all departments are running properly. It would be in charge of laws, policies, and budgets, giving players a chance to take on leadership roles beyond law enforcement.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) should also be a main faction. It would handle law enforcement in rural areas, highways, and small towns. There's no need for Federal Agents, State Troopers or anything else. Having BCSO properly set up would make policing more balanced across the map, instead of everything being focused on just one department. Sheriff's Office might also have Park Rangers, Traffic Enforcement Team (That would handle highways... Instead of having Highway Patrol), Criminal Investigation Division (That would handle investigations, homicides, corruption...).

Another important faction is the Blaine County Fire Rescue. Fire and medical roleplay is often ignored, but it’s just as important as policing. This department would respond to medical emergencies, fires, and disasters, making these situations feel more realistic instead of random and keep initiating events for them to keep them alives and motivate them by CASH or either commendations...

We should also have a Department of Justice (DOJ) to handle court cases and legal matters. This would let players roleplay as judges, lawyers, and prosecutors, making the justice system feel more real. Right now, arrests and sentencing are often rushed, but a DOJ would allow for proper legal processes.

A Department of Public Works would also be grea addition to the server. This faction would take care of road repairs, city maintenance, and construction work. Instead of roads magically being fixed, DPW could handle it, creating more job opportunities and roleplay scenarios to make the server sound more interesting and realistic.
Lastly, we need a Department of Transportation (DOT). Right now, taxis are mostly used for personal reasons, but DOT could manage public transportation properly. This could include licensed taxi drivers, bus services, and other transport options like uber or something

Thanks for the suggestion - this monthly update should shed some light on the legal factions planned for the server but these will be subject to change after faction leaders are hired.

Initially I think it will be best to start with one LEO faction with the potential for further LEO factions to be introduced in the future, for example Highway Patrol.

A government faction will definitely be included, although the scope of this government is yet to be decided e.g. whether DOJ should fall under it along with a public works division or whether these should be split into their own factions.

Taxi Drivers and Bus Drivers have their own separate job at the moment to allow new players a fun starting point that leads to social interactions with other players, however this may change in the future.

We'll be working closely with faction leaders after they are hired to ensure they are as realistic as possible - this will include script changes and branding changes based on what leaders see fit (provided they are within reason).
